There are presently no open calls for submissions.
Submissions will close temporarily on September 21, 2015 so we can catch up and respond to all the authors who’ve been kind enough to send us their stories. Submissions will re-open this winter. Please check our website and social media for the exact date. Thank you for your patience!
Please send us your best previously-unpublished work. Simultaneous submissions are fine, and we're happy for writers who get their work accepted–even if it's not by us–but please withdraw your submission as soon as you know.
By submitting, you are acknowledging that you are the author and no one besides you holds any rights to the work. You also grant The Austin Review the rights necessary to publish the work on our blog or in our journal (online, print, and/or electronic), including any applicable first American serial rights and first electronic rights. You also grant promotional, non-exclusive anthology, and archival rights associated with the work.
At all times you retain the copyright to the work. If you republish the same work, please include a citation to The Austin Review.
